POSTURE AND PAIN
Many Roman Beauty clients suffer from back
pain. Massage is a great way to relieve tension in your back, neck, and
shoulders, but we've also got a few helpful tips below to try and help
you get better posture and less pain
TECHNOLOGY AND POSTURE
Technology is such a huge part of our lives, but not many of us realise just how it can contribute to back pain.
Hunching over your phone while texting or leaning forward to peer at
your computer screen will all force your body into unnatural positions.
Even cradling a telephone between our ear and shoulder can lead to neck
strain if done for too long or too often.
STRETCHING OUT
If
you find yourself constantly hunched over, try a few stretches such as
chest stretches or gently lenghtening your neck upwards as you tuck in
your chin. That will help stretch out all those muscles that have been
locked tight without you even realising.
Try to do some gentle stretching exercises every hour so that your
muscles have a chance to relax. It need only be a few minutes at a time,
but you'll really start to feel the benefits.
If you go to the gym, planks, and bridges to give your tired muscles a healthy stretch.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
A regular massage will help release the
tension in tired muscles, but if you find yourself in a lot of pain or
if you suffer from migraines, then a heated stone massage might be just
the thing.
Heated stones have been used as an aid to massage for 5,000 years,
employed by Hindus in India, the Chinese, and the Hawaiians who found
that heated stones could assist in promoting whole-body relaxation
At Roman Beauty, we use basalt stones because, in addition to heating
well, basalt is said to possess healing properties. The warmed stones
are placed along the spine under the energy chakras to help create
balance within the body.
